Here is a comprehensive list of restricted items.
- Articles subject to customs duty, except upon compliance with all applicable import and export regulations; provided, however, that consignment of serums, vaccines, and medicines difficult to obtain and urgently required shall be exempted from compliance with said regulations;
- Samples sent in large quantities with the intention of avoiding payment of duty; it is prohibited to send items without customs declaration above the quantity or volume indicated in customs rules and regulations. Samples are allowed only up to 5 pieces per type of item or 1kg by volume. [See details: Annex No. 6 for Restricted International Items accepted quantities]
- Narcotics and psychotropic substances, as defined by the International Narcotics Control Board, including, but not limited to, opium, morphine, cocaine or other illicit drugs which are prohibited in the country of destination;
- Obscene or immoral articles; articles bearing indecent or obscene print, paintings, photographs, lithographs, engravings or any words or marks or designs which are grossly offensive or indecent or obscene
- Counterfeit and pirated articles;
- Articles the import, export, or circulation of which is expressly prohibited by law; or other articles the importation or circulation of which is prohibited in the country of destination;
- Explosives and inflammable articles; articles which, by their nature or their packing, may expose officials or the general public to danger, or soil or damage other items, postal equipment or third-party property;
- Radioactive and similar dangerous articles unless sent for medical purposes by registered mail or parcel post in compliance with all applicable regulations from and to establishments authorized to send and receive the same;
- The insertion of replica and inert explosive devices and military ordnance, including replica and inert grenades, inert shells and the like, shall be prohibited in all categories of items.

- It shall be prohibited to insert coins, bank notes, currency notes or securities of any kind payable to bearer, travelers’ cheques, platinum, gold or silver, whether manufactured or not, precious stones, jewels or other valuable articles.

ከንብ፣ከአልቀት፣ከሐር ትል፣ ለመላክና ለመቀበል የተፈቀደላቸው ድርጅቶች ከሚልኳቸውና ከሚቀበሏቸው ተባዮችንና አጥፊ ነፍሳትን ለማጥፋት ከሚያገለግሉ ነፍሳት በህግ እንደተወሰነው መግባት ከሚፈቀድላቸው እንስሶች በስተቀር ማንኛውንም ሕይወት ያላቸው እንሰሶች፣
ለህክምና ጉዳይ ሲባል በመላክና በመቀበል የተፈቀደላቸው ድርጅቶች ከሚልኩት በስተቀር እንደ ሐሺሽ፣ ሞርፌን፣ ሔሮይን፣ ኮኬይንና ሌሎች የናርኮቲክ ፀባይ ያላቸው ነገሮች፣
አፀያፊ፣ የህብረተሰቡን አኗኗር ወግና ባህል የሚበርዙ ወይም የሚያጎድፉ ነገሮችን የሚያሳዩ (የሚያንፀባርቁ) ፁሑፎች፣ ምስሎች ወይም በድምፅ የተቀረፀ ነገሮች ሁሉ፣
